Salted Caramel Kiss Cookie Bars
This is a great cookie to make if you're doing some holiday baking and want something a little more showy than the norm. The base of this recipe is chocolate chip cookie dough. To cut down on time, you could use refrigerated cookie dough, but I always use the recipe my mom made when we were kids. I just tweaked the flour a bit.

Salted Caramel kiss Cookie Bars
1 batch of chocolate chip cookie dough
1/2 cup melted caramel (the recipe we use is from simply kierste design)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
35 hershey kisses
35 pretzels (the small sticks)
4 or 5 sprinkles of kosher salt
Directions:
Now when we are making cookie bars, instead of rolling into balls, I press them into either a deep dish pizza pan or a jelly roll pan (any baking sheet with a lip around the edge). Bake for 13-16 minutes, until golden on top. Let cool for about 10 minutes. You can be melting your caramel and white chocolate at this point.
Drizzle the top with the caramel. Then grab your white chocolate, and drizzle that over the caramel. Top with Hershey kisses, along with some pretzels. Last, sprinkle just a touch of kosher salt over the top to help balance out all the sweet.
Sweet, salty, showy and delicious. Everything you want in a Christmas cookie.
