Must Watch Family Friendly Halloween Movies!!
Snuggling up on the couch in our jammies with cozy blankets, and a bucket of buttery popcorn after busy day is our favorite way to relax as a family!! It’s so fun to watch different nostalgic shows during different seasons, and Halloween is loaded with a bunch of fun ones.
The shows we have listed in this post are all family friendly, according to our family’s standards. We have 7 children, so it is a very wide range of ages. I know everyone has different sensitivity levels, so please take our suggestions with that caveat.

Because of different sensitivity levels, not only in our own family, but in general, we LOVE VidAngel. Have you ever heard of it??! We have been paying for their service for years to filter content we feel is inappropriate for our family.
It’s super easy, you download the VidAngel app on your phone, computer &/or TV, and then connect it to your other streaming apps. VidAngel will pull the movies straight from your streaming apps and then you can choose what filters to put on.
VidAngel offers over 100 filters to choose from for content such as profanity, blasphemy, nudity, sexual content, violence, and more.
VidAngel provides filters for over 20,000 movies and TV shows, and we are always adding new content every week.
VidAngel’s apps let you filter shows online, on your phone, or on your TV.
We love VidAngel so much, that we partnered with them to give you a 14 day trial!! All you have to do is put in coupon code: HELPING
(Not all of the movies on this list come up on VidAngel, but many of them do!)

We’ve got such a long list, we divided it up for you into different sections: Younger & School Age Kids, Tweens & Up, Teens & Up, Oldies but Goodies (for VERY old movies- think black and white), and even suggestions for the Hallmark lovers. We also have a print friendly list for you, if you’d like it!
Let’s get to it!! Starting with:
For Younger & School age Kids:
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
The Nightmare Before Christmas
For Your Tweens on up:
Wednesday - TV Series on Netflix
Harry Potter Movies (The first 3 are less scary)
Goonies - watch the language in this one
Ghostbusters 2016 (Answer the Call - Girls Version) - are a couple of language parts
For Teens on Up
A Quiet Place - we like the first one the best, but A Quiet Place 2 and A Quiet Place: Day One are also favorites of our older kids.
For the Hallmark Lovers (These are my Sister’s Recs!):
Murder She Baked (several different ones)
Oldies but Goodies:
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein
The Birds - an old Alfred Hitchcock favorite. Best for 12 and up.
